On Saturday, Congressman Lloyd Doggett, State Sen. Kirk Watson and a number of community leaders will gather at a new southeast Austin health center that’s been years in the making. People who live in the Dove Springs neighborhood of Austin will now be able to get a range of services at the new Central Health Southeast Health and Wellness Center, a needed addition to a neighborhood that has traditionally had very few nearby options for healthcare. "The name Southeast Health and Wellness -- the part of wellness is something that Central Health has been very interested in working with this community," says Isaac Pozos with CommunityCare, a Central Health partner. The center offers primary, mental and dental care, radiology, pharmacy services and even exercise classes for mostly low-income residents.
